Saltwater Aquarium Resources

Customer Testimonial
"In my experience with SWE, they show an interest in learning the customer's needs and level of experience, to be able to make the best purchase recommendations for the individual. They also seem to stay away from selling animals that have poor records of survival in captivity, focusing instead on stocking healthy, hardy, colorful marine species."

ORA Gets a new site. See the coral or fish you like and have us order one up for you. Support Aquaculture!  And here is a cute site that collects photos of ORA corals both frag and grown-out colonies.

PROBIOTICS DEMYSTIFIED
Coral Mag hosts an article by Murray Camp on how to culture animals as a method of dealing with nutrient issues. We use Prodibio in our store tanks and Fritz and Shane use it in their home tanks, Li has experience with both vodka and zeovite methods, and Scott and Rachelle are using Vertex bio-pellets in their home system.

SEXY SONJAY LIGHTING LINK
What ballast and Bulb to get? The tests are out there! Geek out for hours on this lighting specialty site.

WATER CHANGE LINK
"What IS that water change(WC) doing for me?" Based on this information, we recommend 10% weekly WC; Four 50% WCs over as short a period as you can make fully aerated new sat water (NSW)when there is a big issue.

ACRO EATING FLATWORMS LINK
If you are keeping Acropera at all, you should read this thread. While we dip every coral going into our systems, it does not remove our recommendation that you dip every coral going to your system. We use TMPCC and Revive at the store. We also chop off all SPS at the base (other than stuff coming from ORA) just to be sure! smile

So you are interested in Seahorses too?
We have a growing number of people willing to pay for captive bred seahorses, which can be fed FROZEN FOOD!
Seahorses need a dedicated tank. For more information on seahorse husbandry we suggest spending some time at: Seahorse.org.
At this time we can get H. erectus and H. redi. We will not stock wild specimens.
